Shoe Drive Fundraiser Kick Off!
WHAT: The community is invited to clean out their closet for a shoe drive to raise funds to aid in the production of “Awake Deborah Awake”, a biblical play performed by teens. Donations of gently worn, used and new shoes will be accepted. The amount of money raised is determined by the total weight of the shoes collected.
All donated shoes will be redistributed to micro-enterprise partners through Funds2Orgs, a for profit social enterprise, and used in developing nations for impoverished people to start their own businesses.
WHEN: 12/01/24 thru 1/31/25
GOAL: 160 boxes of shoes (25 prs. of shoes per box)
HOW TO DONATE:
Option 1: If you live within a 40 mi. radius of Florissant, Missouri, you can schedule a pick up on this website.
Option 2: If you live outside of a 40 mi. radius of Florissant, Missouri, you can mail your box/boxes of shoes to: Spiritually Empowered Writers, Attn: Sheree May, 2070 Pyrenees Dr. Florissant, MO. 63033.
Option 3: If you prefer not to mail shoes, a donation equal to a box of shoes which is $12.50 will be welcomed by submitting through our Donorbox below.
DETAILS: In the US alone, over 300 million pairs of shoes are thrown away per year. The materials used to manufacture a pair of shoes are created from chemical compounds that will create health hazards if left to disintegrate openly or in landfills. By donating your gently worn, used and new shoes to the Leap of Faith Journey for Teens, your shoes are given a second chance to make a difference.
